Through the second workshop of the semester I gained my first taste and a benificial understanding of what is required in terms of architectural drawings and the way in which they are used to demonstrate various ideas. As well as this there has been great insight into what makes a great architectural presentation and features that work well as well as those that don’t work so well. Such features that worked well included the use of felt tip pens for precise drawings rather than pencils because dark and strong lines that result in the drawings been able to be seen from a distance. The need to consider all aspects specifically the use of colour and to only use it where it has a strong and evident meaning and specific to the building been designed was also an important lesson learnt. In further courses i wish to use the knowledge gain through this experience in order to transform future works in to easy to read and creative demonstrations of ideas, capturing the audience. In the future i also wish to improve my verbal communication skill as this is also a huge part of a presentation and an area I personally need to improve.
